The El Segundo Police Department has cancelled all Police Department community outreach events until further notice. The action is taken as a precaution to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The City of El Segundo continues to cooperate with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control and the El Segundo Unified School District to respond to the spread of the novel coronavirus in Los Angeles County. The primary function of the Uniform Patrol Division is patrolling the city, enforcement of penal statutes and ordinances, maintaining public order, traffic law enforcement, and offering assistance, information; and providing public services as needed. 

Lt. Corkins

Lieutenant Aaron Corkins is the Area Commander for the City, west of Pacific Coast Highway (West Command.) Lieutenant Corkins has been with the El Segundo Police Department for over 20 years. Past assignments include Field Training Officer, Motor Officer, South Bay Platoon, South Bay DUI Task Force, Peer Support, Investigations Sergeant, Coordinator of the Community Police Academy, Personnel Sergeant, Professional Standards Sergeant and Training Sergeant. He is currently in command of the SWAT team, Terrorism Liaison Program, Peer Support Program, and the South Bay Platoon.  Lieutenant Corkins loves to hunt, fish, travel, and spend time with his three children. He has been heavily involved as a volunteer in Little League baseball, high school wrestling and currently serves as the director of benefits for the South Bay Police and Fire Memorial Foundation.  Lieutenant Corkins is also a member of El Segundo Rotary and the El Segundo Moose Lodge.
