Assist the El Segundo Police Department enhance public safety by registering your exterior-facing security camera system. By doing so, you’re letting us know that you’re willing to share footage from your cameras to support a criminal investigation should the need arise.

When a crime occurs, registered cameras help officers quickly identify potential sources of video evidence, saving critical time that might otherwise be spent going door-to-door. This can significantly aid in identifying suspects and solving crimes faster.

We’ve had great success with community members who have provided valuable footage that directly supported investigations and helped bring justice.

How It Works:
If a crime occurs near your registered camera, a representative from the El Segundo Police Department may contact you and ask to review the recorded footage relevant to the date and time of the incident.

Key Program Details:

  • No direct access: The El Segundo Police Department will not have live or remote access to your camera.
  • Voluntary and free: There is no cost to participate, and you may withdraw your registration at any time.
  • Used only for investigation: Your information will only be accessed by law enforcement personnel for official investigation purposes.

This program is part of our ongoing effort to deter crime and promote public safety through collaboration between the El Segundo Police Department and the community we serve.

We invite you to register your security camera as part of our effort to safeguard El Segundo.
